Council approves $3.396 million amendment for Mission project; two councilmembers recuse

The Oroville City Council voted to approve Amendment No. 3 to the contract with Butte Construction Company for the Mission project, increasing the contract’s not-to-exceed amount from $3,056,000 to approximately $3,396,000, according to staff presentation.
Staff said the amendment formalizes a series of change orders performed over preceding months. The contractor had budgeted internal resources to cover some adjustments and the amendment does not request additional city funding beyond previously appropriated project monies.
Two councilmembers recused from the vote; one recusal was disclosed as a family member employed by the construction company, and another recusal was recorded due to proximity of residence to the project. With those recusals, the motion passed 5–0.
There were no public comments on the item. Council directed staff to continue to monitor change orders and keep council apprised of any further adjustments.
