Warren County approves 2026 True North health renewal with 1% overall increase; county covers telemedicine copay

The Warren County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 21 approved the county’s 2026 benefits renewal with health provider True North, accepting a renewal the board described as a roughly 1% collective increase in the county’s health plan costs.
A supervisor said the final renewal was about a 1% increase and that the board decided to split the additional cost roughly 50/50 between the county and employees so that employees would not see their recent cost-of-living raises largely offset by higher premiums. The supervisor said the board selected a slightly higher round number for presentation to build reserves.
The renewal also includes expanded telemedicine coverage. Staff said the county will cover the telemedicine out-of-pocket charge (about $60) for employees on the high-deductible plan and will cover telemedicine for the county’s HMO plan members as well. A staff presenter said the telemedicine benefit aims to reduce out-of-pocket visits for minor acute needs, lower overall cost and improve access.
The board moved to approve the True North renewal as presented. The motion carried on a roll-call vote by supervisors recorded as aye.
