Board approves agenda, consent items, three MOUs and co-curricular appointments unanimously

The Northern Lebanon SD Board of Directors approved multiple routine and administrative items by unanimous voice vote during its regular meeting on Oct. 14.

The board adopted the meeting agenda on a motion from Director England with Director Moyer seconding; no members opposed. The consent agenda (items 7.1–7.2 and other listed consent items) was approved on a motion from Director Murray and a second from Director Kreiser; the motion carried unanimously.

The board approved three memoranda of understanding (items 8.1–8.3). According to the administration, the MOUs include: (1) an administrative mechanism to pay short-term clubs or activities at an intramural rate equal to half the typical hourly rate (example given: short-run clubs such as a crochet club); (2) flexibility in implementing IEP-related reimbursement, allowing either a fee or a day off depending on circumstances; and (3) language cleanup related to the district’s collective bargaining agreement to formalize current practices. The motion to approve items 8.1–8.3 was made by Director Murray and seconded by Dr. Englund; the vote was unanimous.

The board also approved item 10.1, additional co-curricular advisor appointments, including the new Educators Rising club intended to introduce students to teaching careers and offer a certification pathway. The motion to approve item 10.1 was made by Director Blau and seconded by Director Kreiser; the vote carried unanimously.

The meeting record shows roll-call attendance of nine board members at the start of the meeting, and each of the above motions carried with unanimous voice votes and no recorded oppositions or abstentions.
