Dr. East told the Northern Lebanon SD board on Oct. 14 that the district is wrapping up the second-to-last phase of school renovations and will move back into the “teens” hallway at the end of the month.
He said crews will begin the final section of renovation in the area that once held the district office (and earlier housed sixth-grade classrooms), which will complete the project. A fence will be erected in the parking lot to enclose the auxiliary gym area, and demolition of that auxiliary space is scheduled to begin shortly.
During demolition work Dr. East said the boys’ locker room and team room on that side of the gym will be unavailable for daytime use but will remain available for evening activities. He said the project has entered the HVAC balancing phase—adjusting airflow now that most HVAC units are installed—and that some teachers have experienced temperature regulation issues that balancing should address.
Dr. East praised the project controls company for its work and said the final punch-list process will begin after major construction finishes. He also said the district and administration will meet to clarify potential renovation participation and cost-sharing related to a proposed CTC renovation; the suppliers and finance contacts have provided numbers for discussion.
No formal board action was taken on construction at the Oct. 14 meeting; Dr. East’s report was presented as an update.
