District staff described plans for a new maintenance equipment shed and surrounding fence to store tractors, mowers and other maintenance equipment during winter months.
Staff said the preferred building is approximately 40 feet by 60 feet and that in‑house maintenance crews could build much of the structure to save cost. A local supplier provided a building package price for the shell at $17,488; staff estimated the total cost including fencing and related work could be between $17,488 and $20,000, noting fence work may add material and labor costs because it should match the existing roughly six‑foot perimeter fencing.
Staff said the structure would be fully enclosed with two large garage doors (12 feet was discussed as likely) and a walk‑in door; electricity will need to be extended to the site if lights are planned. The initial floor would be compacted gravel rather than concrete to limit upfront cost; staff said a concrete floor could be added later if needed.
Committee members expressed support and staff said the item would likely be on the next full‑board agenda for design approval and budgeting. No formal action was taken at this meeting.
