Contractor reports interior slabs poured and framing underway at Page County jail project
Summary

Jeff Curtis of the Samuel's group provided a construction update to supervisors, reporting that "all the remaining interior slabs [were] poured, which also includes all the recessed floor slabs for where we have our showers and our padded cells." He said metal studs for administrative and sheriff areas were delivered and framing has begun, allowing trade partners to start in-wall mechanical, electrical and plumbing work.
Curtis said the project team poured a base for a grease interceptor, prepared a transformer pad for MidAmerican's final approval, and continued above-ceiling plumbing mains. He noted continued attention to procurement of specialty detention doors and detention equipment and said generator components and electrical switchgear were being installed and tracked through contingency budgets.
Curtis told the board the project is "trending and tracking really well" but said the county was still awaiting a final number for the natural-gas hookup from Alliant, and that those costs may affect contingency allocations. He invited supervisors to schedule site visits once stoops and entrance caps are poured and protected, and he provided contact information for on-site project staff.
Ending: The contractor said schedule milestones are being met, trade partners remain coordinated, and staff will continue to provide status updates and scheduling information for site visits.
