Upper Dublin board announces process, October special meeting to fill vacant seat

Board President Mister Wallach opened the Sept. 29 legislative meeting by announcing a current vacancy on the nine-member Board of School Directors and outlining the district’s process for appointing a replacement. He said the district has posted application materials and information on its website and through social media and that an applicant packet must be submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Mister Wallach said the board will hold a special legislative meeting on Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m. for candidate interviews and possible appointment. He told the community that applicants must be available for that meeting and that materials and instructions for applying are on the district website’s vacancy announcement.
Board members and the superintendent reiterated that the vacancy was disclosed previously at a special meeting earlier in the month and that the current meeting was the first regular legislative meeting since the vacancy arose. The board chair encouraged community members to apply and said the district will keep the public informed of developments related to the selection process.
