Flagee Memorial Hospital donates $30,000 to support athletic trainers provided by Court Physical Therapy

Flagee Memorial Hospital and Court Physical Therapy were recognized by Nelson County Schools during a community-partner celebration at the board meeting for funding athletic trainers who serve the district's high-school athletes.
Graham Gandy, speaking for Flagee Memorial Hospital, said the hospital and its executive leadership were “very pleased to partner with Nelson County Board of Education in support of athletic trainers that are provided by Court Physical Therapy.” Gandy said the contribution will help ensure students have access to on-site athletic care when injuries occur.
Elliot Mattingly, a physical therapist with Court in Bardstown, said Court has provided athletic trainers to the district for many years and praised Flagee's $30,000 contribution to continue support for trainers during after-school hours and events. “If we can work together to help provide early access to our care, because we know if we get you in sooner, you're gonna get better sooner,” Mattingly said.
Board members and school staff thanked the partners and noted the on-field presence of trainers reduces travel and provides more immediate care for student athletes at Nelson County High School and Thomas Nelson.
The recognition was celebratory and informational; no board action was necessary to acknowledge the donation during the meeting.
