Staff reports tree maintenance, parklet planning and recent cleanups; next meeting scheduling noted

City staff briefed the Placerville Recreation and Parks Commission on maintenance work and recent community events, and said the department is still identifying a permanent location for a parklet.
Staff described recent tree maintenance work that improved sightlines in Bedford and Ivy Lot canopy pruning along Hangtown Creek. The department removed a hazardous tree at Mooney and continues routine creek and trail maintenance, with staff and volunteers assisting in neighborhood cleanups and a Gold Bug Park cleanup. Commissioners thanked staff and volunteers for work on recent events and cleanups.
On the parklet, staff said discussions are ongoing with city public‑works staff to select a final, long‑term location; no final site was approved. Staff also reported a recent softball tournament at Lions Park and said the department is planning calendar adjustments for the holidays: next month’s regular meeting was canceled and staff will try to reschedule in early December to close out the year.
No formal actions were taken; staff said they will return to the commission with site recommendations for the parklet and continued maintenance updates.
