Zimmerman said middle‑ and high‑school students would provide useful feedback for the commission’s youth‑focused questions on the proposed community survey. Commissioners encouraged her to help connect the commission with ASB and school communications to reach more students.
No formal vote was required to introduce the youth commissioner; the commission scheduled outreach work with the student body as part of its survey planning.
