The lighting ceremony is scheduled for Black Friday, Nov. 28, and the tree will be lit at 6 p.m.; vendors typically remain until about 8 p.m. Organizers described the event as a “small‑town” tradition with vendors and family activities; Santa’s attendance was confirmed.
Commissioners said marketing will be targeted rather than broad to avoid “thumb fatigue” on social media; they plan to begin promotion after Halloween. Staff noted flyers and a finalized logo are expected from the planning committee this week.
