Presenters described assigned parking as a tool to reduce lot congestion, improve safety and reinforce accountability. They also detailed proposed incentives and culture initiatives including a “Paint Your Spot” program for seniors, mystery‑date attendance prizes, and preferential parking earned through improved attendance, honor‑roll status or demonstrated improvement.
Committee members asked about enforcement and staffing. Presenters said exact patrol procedures had not been finalized; suggested options included random checks by administrators and school resource officers. The administrators estimated about 273 student parking spots and said the lot is roughly split between staff and students; they said they do not currently have a shortage of spaces.
