Rosemount schedules Haunted Woods Trail for Oct. 25; shuttle, volunteers and business partners involved

Rosemount staff announced the city's Haunted Woods Trail will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Park and will include Halloween scenes and treat stations for preschool through middle-school-age children.
Staff said the event has been held in various forms in Rosemount for decades and this year involves about 25 local businesses and service organizations handing out treats. A shuttle provided by Metro Transit (MVTA) will run from the Rosemount High School parking lot beginning about 5:30 p.m. until approximately 8:30 p.m. or until attendees are returned to the lot.
Organizers accept goodwill donations at the trail entrance to help replace scenes and cover insurance costs. Staff estimated that on a cooperative-weather year the event can draw between about 2,000 and 3,000 attendees. Volunteers are needed for setup and breakdown; staff identified Council Member Heidi Freske and Barb Hester as among the event leads.
Staff said the event is coordinated by a small group of volunteers and community partners and encouraged residents who wish to volunteer to visit rosemounthauntedtrail.org for contact information. Council members asked brief logistical questions about weather and attendance; staff confirmed shuttle and volunteer arrangements.
