Board approves $17,467 in state early-voting grant funds for Simsbury elections

The Board of Finance on Oct. 21 unanimously approved a supplemental appropriation to accept a State of Connecticut Early Voting Grant in the amount of $17,467.11 to be deposited in the general fund and spent by Dec. 31, 2025.
Finance staff told the board the grant will not replace or reduce any portion of the town’s adopted budget for elections; rather, it is additional funding for early voting expenses and must be expended by the grant deadline. The motion passed without amendment.
No further action was required beyond the appropriation and standard grant accounting.
