Sanitary engineer wins approvals for sewer self-certification, fund transfers and change orders

Sanitary Engineer Jeremy Cinco presented four resolutions that the commissioners approved by roll call: authorization for the director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to enter an agreement with Medina County for sanitary sewer self-certification to speed processing of PTIs; authorization to transfer funds between sanitary engineer and county funds; approval of change order No. 1 for the Ryan Road Water Storage Tank and Westfield Standpipe Rehab project; and approval of change order No. 3 for the Marks Road Water Main Replacement project.
Cinco said the county is already self-certified for water and that extending self-certification to sanitary sewer would allow faster processing of permits to install (PTIs). Commissioners voted to approve the four resolutions in a bundled motion; the roll call recorded Commissioners Sweatick, Hambley and Harrison as yes.
Why it matters: Self-certification with the Ohio EPA can reduce administrative delays in securing approvals for sanitary projects. The change orders document construction adjustments on ongoing county water infrastructure projects.
