Neighbor says change to subdivision drainage plan should reduce flooding on Sunset Drive

Townsend said the change should “alleviate many of the drainage problems” experienced on Sunset Drive and that Sun Park Estates supports the developer’s revised plan if implemented as proposed. He also urged the city or the developer to evaluate the Briarmeadow drainage ditch and its culverts — noting multiple 20- and 24-inch culverts — to ensure the system can carry the additional flow from the new subdivision.
Townsend’s remarks were a public comment and did not prompt formal action by the commission. The commission’s communications procedures were read at the meeting; staff may refer substantive comments to a future agenda where the commission or staff can take action.
