Resident urges commission to consider new road funding for Wimbledon Phase 2

Richard (Rick) Brodsky, identified in the public comment period as speaking from offsite, congratulated the city on Wimbledon Phase 1 and said a new state road funding bill appears to allocate about $900,000 in additional funding to Birmingham each year for the next five years. Brodsky asked the commission to discuss how that money might be applied to Wimbledon Phase 2 and improvements in Upland Park.
A staff member responding during public comment said the city was following the bill closely but the governor had not yet signed it; staff said the commission would hopefully have more information before the Oct. 27 meeting.
