Fayette County commissioners voted to approve an updated letter of support for the county health department’s overdose and infectious‑disease prevention program.
Faith Harlan, representing the health department program, described recent changes in program naming and licensure requirements and asked the commission to sign an updated support letter; commissioners agreed. Harlan said the program operates at the health department throughout the week and with a mobile clinic to Smithers and Scarborough twice a month, supplying testing, naloxone and referrals to treatment. "We are on the ground doing the work," Harlan said.
Commissioners discussed providing the county’s standard signatory and asked staff to circulate the final language to the commission before finalizing the letter. The motion to approve the updated support letter passed by voice vote.
