The Sweetwater City Council on Aug. 12 authorized staff to advertise and receive bids for construction work under Contract B of a Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) Clean Water State Revolving Fund project to improve wastewater collection systems.
Justin (staff member) told the council TWDB had approved plans and specifications for sewer manhole placements on Crane Street from East Twelfth to East Fifth Street and for relocation of a sewer line on Neff and Lewis Front Street. Justin said remaining funds from the contract would be used for wastewater treatment-plant improvements. The council voted to authorize advertisement and receipt of bids.
Nut graf: Authorization begins the public procurement phase for TWDB-funded wastewater collection improvements; the council’s action lets staff solicit competitive construction bids and use leftover project funds for treatment-plant work as needed.
Ending: Staff will publish solicitation documents and accept bids; no bid schedule or award date was provided during the council discussion recorded in the meeting minutes.
