The Sweetwater City Council on Aug. 12 adopted resolutions approving the city’s financial policy, the federal grant procurement policy and the investment policy for fiscal year 2026, and set a public hearing on the proposed 2025–26 budget for Sept. 16, 2025.

On budgeting, the council approved changes to the city’s rate schedule as part of budget preparation and authorized a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2025–26 budget to be held Sept. 16, 2025. Krista said there are no proposed water or sewer rate increases in the materials presented, though other fees (including game room licensing) saw increases.
