Communications Director Tom Lause told the council Oct. 14 the city has begun an eight‑step process to redesign the city website with vendor Revize. Lause said the site is the city’s 24/7 portal for residents, businesses and staff and described the planned timeline and major milestones.
Lause outlined the process: an initial kickoff and vendor setup (completed the week of Oct. 8), a four‑ to eight‑week discovery and design period with mockups and stakeholder review, two‑to‑four weeks of HTML development, five‑to‑six weeks for the content management system (CMS) build, content migration of hundreds of pages and documents, three weeks of quality assurance and ADA review, and three weeks of staff training and beta review. Lause said staff work with departments, the communications committee and partners such as Visit Marshfield and Main Street Marshfield during design and content phases.
Lause said the contract with Revize was signed about a month earlier and that the tentative go‑live window is late spring or early summer; no specific year was stated. He encouraged council members and community partners to provide content and photographs for the new visitor guide and site pages. No formal council action was required; the presentation was informational.
