Attendees toured Mission Rail Park after the presentations and the organizer said the energy at the meeting was “exciting” and that many participants volunteered to serve on an expanded nine‑member board to represent different communities across the county.
The official said the group intends to prioritize vocational education and manufacturing opportunities, with the idea that higher‑quality manufacturing jobs at nearby Mission Rail Park would keep residents working locally. The county official said advisory committees will be formed to address workforce and vocational education needs on a countywide basis rather than city‑by‑city.
