Iowa City Comm School District board debates selection process for member representation at meetings

At a meeting of the Iowa City Comm School District board, trustees discussed proposed revisions to policy 200.3 (Regulation 200.301) that would set how board members are assigned to attend informal meetings with parents, staff and community groups. The board did not take a final vote but directed staff to revise the regulation language and pursue a “rolling list” selection option for further consideration.

The district’s director of policy and governance, Chase, told the board the 100-series policies had only minor updates and that the 200-series regulation on board representation was the item receiving the most attention.
