Committee approves temporary rules to cut veterinary licensure fees 20%

The House Agriculture Affairs Committee approved temporary rule docket 243801-2501, which updates the Idaho Board of Veterinary Medicine fee table and authorizes future fee decreases of up to 20 percent.
Katie Stewart, bureau chief for the administration bureau at the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses, told the committee the division acted to lower license costs after the 2024 session included intent language requiring review of boards’ cash balances. “The Board of Veterinary Medicine updated their rules to include not more than language, allowing this Board to easily decrease fees in the future and at this time the Board has voted to reduce their fees by 20% in accordance with last year's approved plan,” Stewart said.

Representative Gerald Raymond moved to approve the temporary rule docket 243801-2501. The committee approved the motion by voice vote; the transcript records no roll-call tally.
