The House Agriculture Affairs Committee introduced RS 32334, a house resolution recognizing Paige Nelson of Rigby for her work promoting agriculture and placed the resolution on the House second-reading calendar.
Representative Gerald Raymond, the sponsor, told the committee Nelson is a freelance journalist and a rancher’s daughter who represented Idaho on a national stage in an agricultural speaking contest. “Paige did the same thing this year. In addition, she went and stood on the national stage…she’s in the top 3 and gave an outstanding presentation and again, represents Idaho agriculture so well,” Raymond said.
Procedure and timing
Representative McCann moved to introduce RS 32334 and recommend it go to the second-reading calendar; the motion passed by voice vote. Raymond asked the committee to keep the recognition confidential until the full House honors Nelson on the chamber floor, and said she will be seated in the gallery for the floor session.
Ending
The resolution will be considered on the House second-reading calendar; the sponsor asked that the committee’s announcement be withheld until the scheduled floor presentation.
