St. Lawrence County records bids for scrap metal and e-waste sale; mixed prices noted

St. Lawrence County purchasing staff opened sealed bids for the sale of scrap metal and e-waste under Bid No. 2025-02 for the Solid Waste Department and recorded vendor pricing and accompanying non‑collusion statements.

At the opening, Stephanie Kerr identified the first bid for the scrap-metal and e-waste sale as submitted by West Perrisville Metals; Kerr read that vendor’s figures for item 1 as “a hundred and 60 dollars per gross ton” and item 2 as “$0 per gross ton.” She then read a submission from Cornerstone Technology (Cornerstone), which she recorded as offering a reduction described in the transcript as “5 less 5¢ on number 1” and “12¢ per gross ton for number 2.” Kerr also noted a submission from Kimco placed in the same envelope as extended material bids; she said county staff would check how an extended-material vendor’s separate bid for item 30 would be handled. Later in the opening Kerr said a vendor had submitted a bid “less $54 a ton and $25 item 2 a ton” for the scrap-metal/e-waste lot; Kerr indicated staff would review and follow up to confirm pricing and eligibility.

Kerr said copies were not required for the e-waste bid packages, but staff recorded when vendors nevertheless provided copies. She thanked vendors for attending and asked them to direct inquiries to bids@saintlatco.gov.

This session was administrative: purchasing staff opened and recorded bids but made no awards or formal decisions at the meeting. Staff will tabulate and verify the numerical bids and supporting documentation and contact vendors as needed before any sale recommendations or awards are finalized.
