Staff noted the projected change increases the distribution for the relevant account and ultimately levels at a higher long‑term amount for ITD and local units of government.
Representative Petzke moved the FY2026 motion to add $20 million ongoing from the Transportation Expansion and Congestion Mitigation Fund to ITD for contract construction and right‑of‑way acquisition. The motion was seconded, and the committee approved the increase by roll call (combined committee total 19 ayes, 1 nay: Senate 9–1; House 10–0). The committee recorded the motion as carrying a due‑pass recommendation.
Staff clarified that one figure discussed earlier (a $16 million change) was the difference between a prior projection and the new number, but the committee motion adopted a $20 million ongoing increase to the transportation expansion fund for FY2026.
