The Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee on March 20 approved a technical correction for the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to transfer small appropriations between the State Highway Fund and the State Highway Dedicated Fund, ensuring the monies are in the correct expendable fund.
Budget analyst Brooke Dupree told the committee the previous maintenance budget used the State Highway Fund where the department intended State Highway Dedicated Fund appropriations. The correction involved net‑zero adjustments across divisions so funds were available for the department to expend. Representative Handy moved the motion to move $2,400 for the Division of Motor Vehicles from the state highway fund to the state highway dedicated fund; later the committee approved an additional $92,000 movement for the Highway Operations Division, also as a fund correction.
Both motions passed unanimously on combined roll call votes (20 ayes, 0 nays). The committee’s clerk reported the motions “have passed and without objection will carry a due pass recommendation.”
