The city solicited proposals for construction-phase engineering and selected Curran McLeod Incorporated for $126,000. Staff said Curran McLeod was the only proposer and that the firm had performed prior design work on the project. Construction is scheduled to begin April 14, with a requested one-week extension around the fair, and the project is expected to be completed in October.
Councilor Patton moved to approve Ordinance 16‑41 authorizing the city administrator to execute the contract; Councilor Davis seconded. The motion carried by voice vote; the ordinance advances to a second reading on April 16, 2025.
Staff said the project remains under budget despite the additional contract for construction-phase engineering.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract with Curran McLeod, provide construction-phase engineering support during the active construction period and return for the formal second reading of the ordinance on April 16.
