Gujo said the first part would remove a statutory requirement that exempt agency motorcycles and trailers display a specific designator, allowing agencies to use their existing designators and to choose plate sizes for trailers. The second part would clarify that temporary trip permits for commercial vehicles must be purchased before entering Idaho, aligning state practice with neighboring states.
Representative Petzke moved to introduce RS31813. Representative Clow asked for an example of an exempt agency; Gujo replied, “...like ISP, fish and game, those sorts like that.” No further questions were raised and the committee approved introduction by voice vote.
Gujo asked that the RS be sent to print; the committee carried the motion to introduce the measure for later consideration.
