FHRA staff reports developer outreach, housing focus and pedestrian-improvement talks for Lee Road corridor

Greg, FHRA economic development staff, told the Fort Harrison Reuse Authority on Oct. 20 that he continues to meet with multiple developers and is prioritizing housing or mixed-use components in prospective projects.
“My focus is always in making sure there's some sort of housing element to that. So either housing or mixed use,” Greg said. He told the board some proposals the authority has received may not make the best use of the properties the authority still controls; as a result staff sometimes must “play defense” and sometimes “play offense” when screening offers.
Greg said staff have discussed the possibility of redesigning Otis and Post Road to make those streets more pedestrian friendly. He also said preliminary conversations have taken place about potential road and pedestrian improvements on the east side of Lee Road between 50 Sixth and 50 Ninth; he reported that at least one property owner along that stretch has been supportive of the idea.
Board members did not ask follow-up questions on the record. The report was informational; no formal direction, vote or action was recorded. The board set its next meeting for Nov. 17, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
