Senate Education committee rejects temporary rule that would have adopted 2024 content standards

Greg Wilson, chief of staff at the Idaho State Department of Education, told the committee the department would prefer the committee not take action on the temporary rule given concerns about promulgating the standards immediately. Wilson said if no action were taken the temporary rules would expire, but a representative from the Division of Financial Management told the committee it would be cleaner procedurally to reject the temporary rule outright.
Senator Sumrall moved that the committee reject docket 8232402; Senator Woodward seconded the motion. The committee voted by voice and the chair recorded that the ayes had it.
