Committee introduces resolution reaffirming Idaho’s partnership with Taiwan

Representative Britt Raybould (District 34) asked the House State Affairs Committee to introduce Senate Resolution RS322.03, a concurrent resolution reaffirming Idaho’s close relationship with Taiwan.
Raybould told the committee that Taiwan is one of Idaho’s top trading partners and emphasized recent exchanges and a delegation visit celebrating more than 40 years of partnership. "This resolution basically just calls for a reaffirming of that partnership and our support for their efforts to be a free nation that gets to make its own decisions," Raybould said.
Representative Mickelson moved to introduce RS322.03. The motion was approved by voice vote; the chair announced the motion was carried. No substantive amendments or fiscal impacts were discussed in the recorded exchange.
The resolution will proceed through the legislature following standard committee scheduling.
