BOISE — The Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee voted to approve enhancements to the Department of Correction’s Community Corrections Division budget for fiscal year 2026, including personnel annualization for the Pocatello Community Reentry Center and other adjustments.
Noah Peterson, budget policy analyst, told members enhancement 7 covers the annualization of personnel costs for positions at the Pocatello Community Reentry Center that were funded for only half of FY2025. Peterson said the requested amounts included $680,700 to annualize personnel costs, $212,300 for general inflation and $1,574,000 for replacement items. The package presented to the committee totaled an additional $116,200 from the general fund and $2,350,800 from dedicated funds for a combined $2,467,000.
Representative Manwaring moved the maintenance-budget motion, Senator Wintrow seconded, and the committee approved the request on a recorded vote. The committee recorded 16 ayes, 3 nays and 1 absent and excused; the motion carried and the recommendation will move forward to the next stage of the budget process.
