PERSI requested a one‑time appropriation to continue a multi‑year pension software upgrade (year four of a five‑year project), funding for board travel and IT replacement hardware. The committee motion reflected a package that included the software upgrade and IT hardware and reduced board travel funding from PERSI’s initial request to $12,500. Representative Tanner moved the item; Senator Galloway seconded.
The motion requested approximately $3.641 million in dedicated funds for FY2026 to support a $3.0 million one‑time software upgrade payment (year four of five), $12,500 for board travel and $234,501 one‑time for IT hardware. The committee approved the request with a combined committee vote of 18 ayes and 2 nays and will forward the recommendation to the floors with a due‑pass recommendation.
PERSI told the committee the continued software work improves data security and will add modern authentication and document‑management capabilities. The committee’s action supports ongoing modernization while limiting board travel line items.
