BOISE — The House Health and Welfare Committee completed a brief agenda that included accepting minutes, introducing several RS measures and adjourning.
The committee accepted the minutes from its Feb. 4 meeting by unanimous voice vote.
Representative John Vanderata (R., Dist. 22) introduced RS 31,900, a draft related to medical assistance for refugees that the sponsor said establishes eligibility provisions, limits on benefits and defined terms and declares certain administrative rules null and void. Representative Redmond moved to introduce RS 31,900; the committee approved the introduction by voice vote.
Representative Jordan Redmond formally asked the committee to introduce RS 32,101, a measure that moves remaining Board of Pharmacy rules into statute; a committee member asked a technical question about why someone might postdate or antedate a prescription, and Redmond said he would address that in more detail at the full hearing. The committee introduced RS 32,101 by voice vote.
Representative Larson presented RS 32,301, described as substantially similar to a bill previously considered and with three sections removed; Representative McCann moved to introduce RS 32,301 and send it to the second-reading calendar. The committee approved that motion by voice vote and recorded that Representative McCann would be the floor sponsor.
With those actions completed, the chair thanked nurses in the audience and adjourned the meeting.
