Senate holds and refers multiple gubernatorial appointments for confirmation

The Judiciary and Rules Committee reported consideration of Kirk Nelson for the Offender Management Board (term to expire Jan. 1, 2027) with a recommendation for confirmation. The Health and Welfare Committee reported consideration of Alex Adams to continue as director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, term to continue at the pleasure of the governor, and recommended confirmation.
Following the committee reports, each of the named appointments was referred to the tenth order of business and held for one legislative day as recorded in the Senate journal for Jan. 16. The transcript records committee recommendations and the procedural referral; it does not record floor confirmation votes on that day.
These referrals place the nominations on the Senate calendar for formal consideration and potential confirmation on a subsequent legislative day.
