Board unanimously approves Burlington High School assistant principal appointment
Summary
The Burlington School Board voted unanimously Feb. 4 to appoint the interim Burlington High School assistant principal, Jada (Peiler/Peailer), to the permanent role for the remainder of the 2024–25 school year following a hiring committee recommendation.
The Burlington School Board unanimously approved Superintendent Tom Flanagan’s recommendation to hire Jada as Burlington High School assistant principal effective immediately.
Flanagan praised the candidate’s connections with students and staff and called the hire one that provides “stability” to BHS leadership. He said the candidate was recommended unanimously by the hiring committee.
Commissioner Waltz moved the superintendent’s recommendation; Commissioner Sowers seconded the motion. The board voted “aye” without opposition. The superintendent and board formally welcomed the appointee and thanked the hiring committee, the student representative, staff representatives, the parent representative and human-resources staff who participated in the process.
Why it matters: Filling the assistant principal role on a permanent basis during the school year is intended to support school leadership continuity at Burlington’s only high school.
