Hot Springs staff propose $166,563 side-load garbage truck purchase for downtown service

Solid Waste Director Samantha Jones told the Hot Springs Board of Directors during an agenda preview that staff will seek approval at the Oct. 21 meeting to buy a side-load collection vehicle from River City Hydraulics Inc. through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program for $166,563.
Jones said the vehicle is intended for downtown routes and other locations where larger trucks cannot access streets. The purchase price is below the amount included in the 2025 budget. If approved, the new vehicle will replace unit 9433, a 2015 model that staff said will be sold after the new unit is received.
No formal vote was taken during the agenda review; the purchase authorization is scheduled for the Oct. 21 business meeting.
