After returning from a closed session on Oct. 21, the McAllen ISD Board of Trustees approved human-resources recommendations for the 2025–26 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Gutierrez said human resources submitted the list of recommendations under separate cover for discussion during closed session. A public motion to approve the recommendations passed and was recorded as 6–0 in open session; the board did not read the personnel list into the public record at the meeting.
Why this matters: Boards must approve certain personnel actions in open session after executive deliberations when required; approval completes the hiring or personnel-change process discussed in closed session.
The board recorded thanks to staff for the work; no individual personnel actions were announced publicly at that time.
