Trustees approve September budget amendment; district accepts fresh fruit-and-vegetable grant

McAllen ISD trustees voted Oct. 21 to approve the district's September budget amendment for fiscal year 2025–26.
Deputy superintendent Gloria Garcia said the amendment adds a Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program grant for Jackson and McAuliffe campuses with revenue of $46,806. Garcia said several state compensatory funds will use fund balance for purchases, including software and student-support activities. She also said fine-arts funding was used for band uniforms and described allocations for dropout prevention and two-way parent-teacher communication software.
The board approved the amendment by voice vote recorded as unanimous.
