The Warwick City Council Finance Committee approved a purchase to acquire 25‑meter lane lines to support pool configuration at the city’s 50‑meter pool.
Christy, a city staff member, told the committee the lane lines are round plastic with a rope through the center and typically last “somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe 10 years.” The pool’s configuration requires five lines in daily use; staff said the department would like to purchase five now and, depending on the mid‑year budget position, buy the remaining five later in the fiscal year.
A committee member said they were reluctant to commit the full amount at the start of the fiscal year and supported the split purchase. The item was on the consent calendar and approved with the rest of the packet.
