INCO parade committee seeks 15 neighborhoods for 'Storybook Christmas'; fee details not yet set

The INCO’s Parade and Festival Subcommittee told the membership the parade theme for the season is “Storybook Christmas” and that organizers still need neighborhood interest before they can finalize applications, fees or participation rules.
Rainey Stephan, speaking for the subcommittee, said the group is collecting expressions of interest rather than binding commitments. “We do have a theme for the parade and it is a storybook Christmas, but they still do not have any applications or other data yet released, so we don't know what a fee structure would be or what other limitations they may have,” Stephan said.
The subcommittee reported six neighborhoods have confirmed interest so far and that organizers want at least 15 neighborhoods to move forward. Stephan emphasized that a chair may indicate neighborhood interest without requiring a formal neighborhood council vote: “We're just finding out if you have interest in participating. We're not we're not having you sign a contract that you're gonna do x, y, and z.”
An executive board member added that individual chairs can decide whether to sign up or consult their executive boards, but that formal neighborhood council approval is not required for initial interest. The subcommittee asked chairs to reach out to neighbors who might want to participate so organizers can meet the participation threshold.
The subcommittee did not provide a timetable for releasing formal applications or fees.
