The Oktibbeha County Board voted to approve payroll and salary adjustments presented during the meeting and to adopt amendments to two employee retirement plans connected with the county hospital.
County officials told the board the county court reporter’s salary should be increased to the level requested in the budget and that court-adjacent staff positions have recommended salary changes. The administrators said the increases would require a budget amendment and that staff would return with the formal amendment; the board approved the personnel changes with the understanding a budget amendment would follow.
Later in the meeting, the board considered two amendments to a retirement plan identified as the county hospital’s savings plan(s). The board approved amendments to the named plans (labeled Plan 1 and Plan 2 in the packet) in separate motions; the vote on each amendment was recorded as passing 5-0. County staff said the amendments affected how forfeited amounts for separated participants would be handled and that any forfeiture amounts would be reallocated among current plan participants per plan rules.
Ending: Staff will prepare the necessary budget amendment paperwork to reflect the salary changes and will file the executed retirement plan amendments per the vendor’s instructions.
