Staff presented renewal figures for the county’s volunteer fire department insurance package: general liability coverage totaling $96,058 and accident-and-sickness coverage for volunteers of $5,680. The board moved and approved the renewals during the meeting.
Separately, the Longview Water Association requested an easement across county-owned property at the west end of the Longview Fire Department parcel to run a water line. Staff said a legal description was not yet complete but could be prepared and included on the next meeting’s agenda if the board preferred. The board voted to grant the easement across the county property to allow the association to construct the line to the west side of the fire department property; the board instructed staff to obtain a survey and draft the formal documents for final recordation.
