Oktibbeha County officials accepted the closeout package for an ARC (Appalachian Regional Commission) grant tied to construction of a North Star elevated water tank and approved an administrative invoice related to the grant.
County staff presented the ARC closeout materials (grant number MSDash19088) and said federal/state monitoring found only one minor procedural issue: a deposit that sat in the account longer than prescribed before disbursement. Staff said the overage appeared to be an oversight linked to staffing changes and holidays and that the county would make any required response to the administering agency.
The board voted to accept the closeout package and to approve an invoice from the Golden Triangle Planning and Development District for $8,500 for administrative services. County staff said $2,500 of that amount would come from ARC administrative draw and that the balance would be split between the city and the county; the invoice and supporting memo explaining the split were included in the board packet.
A supervisor asked staff to obtain the signatures needed on closeout documents and noted that MDA (Mississippi Development Authority), the cognizant agency, would not permit a final administrative draw until the closeout package was received. The board approved acceptance of the closeout package and the admin invoice and authorized staff to complete required signatures and submissions to close the grant.
Ending: Staff will gather required signatures, submit the closeout package to the Mississippi Development Authority for final administrative draw, and return with any follow-up required by MDA.
