Software and appraisal support: The Board approved a $40,500 subscription to a deed-processing application described by staff as a distinct system to speed recording and electronic deed processing. Commissioners clarified that the purchase does not preclude the county’s ongoing review of a separate tax system.
Appraisal staffing and valuation services: The Board also approved continuing contract valuation support for new construction and new permits to assist the Tax/Assessment office while the county hires in-house appraisers. Staff said the county will post positions and train in-house staff; the contract extension covered workload until hires are operational.
Pender Water and Sewer vehicle purchase: The Board approved a purchase order of $58,733.70 to a Chevrolet dealer for a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that will be assigned to a recently hired utilities inspector to support construction inspection across the county. Staff said the vehicle price came in $6,000 under budget and the new position will be trained by the existing utilities inspector while the vehicle is on order.
Deed dedication: The Board accepted the deed of dedication for the Brookfield Branch subdivision phase and authorized recording the water distribution system dedication to the utility.
