Arlington ISD reports rising AP participation, higher scores and plans for expanded support

Arlington ISD administrators presented a multi-part update to trustees on Oct. 2 showing increases in Advanced Placement (AP) participation and performance and describing district strategies to expand access and support for AP students.
The key numbers: AP test participation is up roughly 8% since 2018, and the number of AP exams scored at 3 or higher increased by about 38%, the presenters said. Superintendent Doctor Smith and advanced-academics staff said those gains translate into college credit for students and improved College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes.
