District updates Title I family-engagement attachments to reflect federal nonregulatory guidance

Springfield Township SD’s policy committee reviewed revisions to Policy 918, the Title I parent and family engagement policy, that add attachments based on nonregulatory guidance from the U.S. Department of Education.
Dr. Watts said the district updated its district- and school-level documents using federal templates and that existing practices — including dated agendas and sign-in sheets for Title I meetings and language-access services for families with limited English proficiency — already align with the guidance. The attachments will be added to the policy in board docs and posted on the district website.
Committee members said the change is minor and procedural. Administrators described the attachments as PDFs using federal templates; committee members supported proceeding with the update.
