Springfield Township SD administrators presented a one-line addition to Policy 209.2 to reflect a change in the Pennsylvania school code requiring districts to inform families about Type 1 diabetes.
Michelle Lutz (identified in the meeting as the presenter on health matters) said the district already posts a district fact sheet and the Pennsylvania Department of Health fact sheet on the district website, and includes the material in its annual school-messenger notification sent to families prior to the school year.
The committee characterized the change as minor and procedural; members indicated support to proceed with a one-read revision.
